12/03/24 Dream: I had a dream that I was in a movie theatre with this boy watching some sort of YouTube video on the silver screen, until suddenly, he beckoned me over to a back entrance behind the projector and disappeared into a door. I got up, leaving my popcorn and soda inside the theatre, as I then dived behind the projector and went into the door. Me and my friend then found ourselves in a hidden airport completely barren aside from us, in which the gates were merely labeled with a primitive LCD sign indicating destination and some of the doors covered with a keypad. As we walked, I also noticed that the room had many floor to ceiling windows on the left side, which were absolutely spotless and showed a gargantuan airstrip on the other side with only a few planes. The room was also mysteriously lit from the top ceiling by a few lights, which although they couldn’t even stretch down from the top, the floors and lower walls still remained perfectly illuminated. I also remember that as we walked, some of the locked terminals displayed names like “MAID ISLAND”, “ASRIEL’S CASTLE”, “KFC HQ”, “DEZORIS”, etc., which weren’t places an airplane would actually be flying to. These doors also had a keypad on them which had the standard 0-9 & a 4 character input screen. I tried to brute force this number pad, but every wrong combination shocked me, so I gave up fast. After this, I kept walking wordlessly behind my friend, until I eventually saw two doors which had no keypad on them: One being labeled “SANDY SHORES” and the other being labeled “NEW ORLEANS.” Excited, I then went into the New Orleans door, despite my friend pleading with me to stop. After which, I then found myself in another movie theatre, this time in the hallway, as I faceplanted onto the other side of the door. I got up, brushed myself off, and tried looking behind me, only to then see a carpeted movie theatre wall where the door once was. I then decided to take a peek outside the movie theatre door, only to see that I was in a classical version of New Orleans, with black men in fancy attire going about in three piece suits and smoking cigars throughout the halls. I was amazed, but also a little nervous, since I was just wearing a black crop top with the undertale logo on it and a red/black pleated miniskirt within my dream. I ducked back into the theatre, and began to look around to see if there was a lady who could loan me her overcoat. I looked around the theatre seats, but most of them weren’t wearing any overcoats, so it was a rather hard ask. My search was eventually stopped though, as an old hag grabbed me by the shoulder, commanding “Sit down, impudent young lady!” In a very angry yet also hushed voice. I then quickly apologized and did as I was told, sitting down next to the hag and starting to watch the movie. It was a WWII flick in a form of early technicolor, and the scene was in a helicopter. It was a group of Nazis and Italians torturing a Dutch family, and threatening to exterminate their bloodline. I am not sure why they were torturing them, but they were torturing the grandfather especially, who refused to crack. One of the soldiers then laughed, and threw an infant (presumably his grandchild) out of the helicopter towards the ground below. The grandfather then began to shed tears and weaken, as the German soldier then mocked him and took out a knife, holding it to the throat of a woman looking to be in her mid 30’s. The woman started screaming and cursing in dutch, of which I didn’t understand hardly anything of what she said, but it seemed to shake up the old man, as he then started confessing everything to the German soldiers. The germans then became resolute, reholstering their knives and letting the girl go back to her husband and teenage child, of which she then started crying and hugging them. The old man on the other hand, looked miserable and sad, and appeared to be begging and praying to god on his knees. The helicopter started landing in the middle of the forest, and a couple germans jumped out in parachutes, meanwhile, the old man slowly crawled over to the rest of his kin and collapsed into their arms. After this, the movie faded to black, and a blank credits screen began to play. The title showed as something like “アクショーンな戦記,” but most of the other text was too small for me to read. Then, as the credits reached their end, I awoke from the theatre in my bed, delirious and thirsty. FIN.
Your dream is rich in imagery and themes, and its interpretation can be deeply personal. Here are several elements to consider:
Movie Theatre: The theatre represents a space of escapism and storytelling. This could symbolize your desire to explore different aspects of your life or identity. Being with a boy in this setting may suggest either a budding interest in romantic relationships or a desire for companionship and shared experiences.
Hidden Airport: Airports are often symbols of transition and new beginnings, while being hidden suggests that there are parts of yourself or potential paths that are not yet visible or acknowledged. The barren environment may point to feelings of isolation or uncertainty about your next steps.
Unique Destinations: The nonsensical destinations like "MAID ISLAND" and "KFC HQ" might suggest a whimsical aspect of your psyche, indicating a desire for adventure or an escape from mundane existence. They might also symbolize your creative thoughts and imagination, hinting that you have aspirations that diverge from conventional paths.
The Locked Doors: Attempting to open these doors represents your desire to discover new opportunities or aspects of your identity. The shocking experience when you tried to enter reveals fears around failure or injury in the pursuit of those opportunities, suggesting that you may be hesitant to take risks in your waking life.
Transition to New Orleans: New Orleans is often associated with culture, music, and a rich historical background. Entering this door despite your friend’s warning shows a thirst for exploration and perhaps a desire to step out of your comfort zone. The stylish attire of the people around you hints at feelings of inadequacy or a fear of judgment in new social situations.
The Hag: Being confronted by the old hag may symbolize authority or societal expectations that feel oppressive to you. It suggests a struggle between your youthful impulses and the demands of those around you. Her command to sit down implies a need for you to comply with societal norms or expectations.
The WWII Movie: This part of the dream may reflect deeper themes of conflict, sacrifice, and the moral dilemmas of war. The haunting imagery could be dealing with feelings about violence or injustice in the world and may evoke a strong emotional response. The old man's struggle may symbolize your fears about vulnerability, sacrifice, and the impact of external situations on personal relationships.
Credits Screen and Awakening: The transition into credits and the awakening signifies a return to reality after an intense exploration of themes within your subconscious. Feeling delirious and thirsty might point to an emotional depletion or a need for self-care after grappling with heavy themes in your dream.
Overall, your dream suggests a journey through your own consciousness, exploring themes of identity, societal expectations, risk-taking, and moral dilemmas. It may invite you to reflect on where you feel limited in your waking life, what you seek to explore, and how to reconcile those feelings with your surroundings.
